When Scarlett has her baby she decides to name her Grace Halley. Half of the prom was waiting in the delivery room just to see her baby. When she has her baby Halley started to get overwhelmed. She was also so excited because she named her baby after her. They decided to keep the baby and are now thinking about what the baby, Grace Halley, will turn out being like.

I think the theme of this story is friends mean everything. In this story Scarlett needed Halley. If Halley wasn't there for Scarlett I don't what she would have done. Her life would have been completely different. I don't think Scarllet would have had her baby if Halley wasn't there for her. When you do have a friend like Halley you can get through everything.

Since Scarlett is 16 she has a job, she is a cashier. She is now 5 months pregnant and she thinks she might quit her job. Se doesn't like all the criticisms she is getting from people who come to the store to buy stuff. What would you do in her situation?

 In this chapter Scarlett decided to go to the doctor to figure out how her baby is doing. She also decided he is going to have the baby and not get an abortion (spoiler alert). When she went to the doctor se was so worried. She was thinking about all the things that could go wrong, all the different possibilities (good and bad). When the doctor came in she was so scared, luckily everything was fine, the baby was healthy...don't you love happy endings. She would not be able to get threw this without her best friend Halley.

My book someone like you correlates with the Adel son called someone like you. In the book Scarlett looses the person she loves. In the Adel song she also looses someone. Even know they didn't loose them in the same way, they all lost the person they loved. They are both also really sad.

In the book I explained that Scarlett  doesn't know if she wanted to get an abortion. Have you ever had to make a really big decision that would change your life.  If I could tell Scarlett how to make her decision, I would say  make a list of pros and cons and then decide. If that doesn't work for her she should just go with her gut. If you think about it there is no good way to decide something that will possibly change your life forever. What would you do to decide?

Even know I am only a third of the way through my book, I would still recommend it. I always enjoy book with lots of twists’ so that you don’t know what will happen next. I would recommend this book to someone that likes to read books that they can relate too. This book is very easy to relate too because it is about these two best friends that will anything for each other no matter what. You will start and not want to stop reading, one because the author puts lots of unexpected things , two the author is a very good writer, and three she has lots of descriptive words which make it really easy to visualize.  If you are like me you will also like this book and should read it when you get a chance.

My book can be compared to lots of things. For example in the book Scarlett are best friends and they would do anything for each other. I could compare this to my own life (text vs. self) because i have my two best friends Annie and Sophie and I would do anything for them because I have known them since I was four. You could also compare my book to other books/shows or movies. (text vs. world) For example there are many car accidents that happen in the world just like what happened to Scarlett’s boyfriend, Michael. Such as what happened to Jordan Hoaks a few weeks ago.

In the last two chapters I read of the book, “Someone Like You” there was a really big twist. Halley found out her friend, Scarlett, is pregnant with Michaels baby. Michael is Scarlett's boy friend. He was also the one who died in the car accident in the beginning of the book. Halley doesn’t want the baby, but she doesn’t want to get an abortion.

Lots of real life events relate to this book. Some of the events are sad but not all of them. In this book Michael was in a car accident and in real life there are many car accidents. On the upside in the book Halley and Scarlett are best friends and they would do anything for each other. In real life lots of people have that one person they will always be friends with. For example i have known my neighbors Annie and Sophie since I was four and I would do anything for them.

I think that the author wrote this book, “Someone Like You” because Sarah Dessen, the author, wanted to show that all friendships have their ups and downs. If they are true friends then they will always be friends. She also wanted to engage the reader and show the life of a teenager. This was also based off a true story from one of her friends in high school. She also said that lots of people could relate to falling in love.

This book reminds me of a lot of different movies such as, Mean Girls, High School Musical, etc. because Halley is jealous of Scarlett. In all of these movies someone is jealous of somebody else.  In Halley’s case she has always been jealous of Scarlett’s red hair. Halley has always wanted long hair like Scarlett.

           In my book “Someone Like You” the conflict happened when Halley was gone. While Halley was at a summer camp when she got a call from Scarlett, the camp director didn’t think it was that important but Halley answered the phone anyways. When Halley answered the phone and Scarlett was crying. When Halley asked her why she was crying she told her that her boyfriend Michael was killed in a motorcycle accident, he was hit by a BMW. When Halley found out Scarlett asked her if she would come home, then Halley told her’ “she was on her way”.

             The two main characters in my book Halley and Scarlett have been best friends forever. Halley is sixteen and Scarlett really bight read hair. Scarlett’s also has boyfriend named Michael. Halley says she will never leave her best friend no matter what happens. Halley doesn’t know that lots of things are going to change. We will find out if Halley will truly be there foe Scarlett forever with whatever issues and fights will come their way.

What I'll Be Reading This Tri (1)

 

I choose the book Someone Like You.  I thought that the Book cover was pretty and made me want to see what it was about.  My author is a New York Best-Selling Author.  This book was also in my sister’s room so I asked her if it was good and she said she loved this book.  Once I read the back and heard it was about two people who have been friends ever since they met. I wanted to find out what happens, so I decided to get the book. A movie called How to Deal is out and it is based on this book. I will probably watch it after I read the book.
